In early 2014 I moved to Los Angeles to start work at Praedicat, Inc., a start-up associated with the Rand Corporation and RMS. Praedicat is revolutionizing casualty insurance by providing the first set of analytics that allow insurers to see the likely course of the science that will support tort claims in the future. Its an exciting job where I get to work with risks ranging from concussions in sports to the nano-particles in spray-on sunscreen. Moreover, I'm in charge of developing the model that, for the first time in history, converts all those analytics into dollar losses.
Before moving to LA, I finished a PhD in agricultural economics at the University of Kentucky. At Kentucky, my major professor was Jerry Skees and I often worked with his research firm GlobalAgRisk.
Before Kentucky, I live in DC and worked at the international development consulting firm JE Austin Associates. I graduated from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service in 2006.
I'm originally from Brookline, MA. and married my wife Emily in 2013.
I'm a big NBA fan.
